The edge folder or folder is mainly used in industrial sewing machines to professionally attach bias tapes and fabric to the edges of clothes and textiles. The machine pulls the fabric strip and guides it through a spiral path that automatically folds its edges before it reaches the needle, ensuring that the strip comes out with a constant width and a perfectly consistent appearance without the need to iron the strip or fix it manually beforehand. The part directly responsible for the quality and balance of the bottom stitch with the upper needle thread is distinguished by the presence of a spiral tail at its front called the thread guide, which makes it specifically designed for embroidery. This guide works to pass the bobbin thread in a fixed path, preventing the oscillation and vibration that usually occur due to the high speeds of the machine, which may exceed eight hundred stitches per minute.

It is used to make a perfectly straight stitch along the edge of the fabric at a very constant distance. Its advantage is the presence of a "bumper" or "edge" that slides alongside the edge of the fabric or alongside the seam fold, ensuring that the line does not slant to the right or left.

Its primary function is to cover the cords with fabric and sew them onto the edges of upholstery, cushions, and clothing.

This foot pedal is available in two opposing versions, the left version and the right version. The main function of this variation is to give the tailor the freedom to choose the direction of the needle's passage with respect to the protrusion of the zipper or cord to be sewn. The left foot pedal allows the needle to pass from the left side, while the right foot pedal does the exact opposite, which makes it easier to work on different angles and directions of the fabric without the need to turn the piece completely over or change the natural sewing path. This balance between the two sides ensures extreme accuracy in fixing the "cords" and zippers from both sides in a symmetrical and professional manner.
